The shutdown of Reactor 2 at Cernavodă and high import prices are pressuring suppliers, which will ultimately affect consumers. New contracts are already reflecting higher rates, with some offers reaching 1.7 to 1.8 lei per kWh. Nuclearelectrica's inability to meet its contractual obligations will force suppliers to source energy at higher prices, impacting bills. Consumers can switch suppliers without penalties, with a transition time of about 24 hours.
