The temporary suspension of the ban aims to facilitate the transport of goods that cannot be moved by river. This measure will take effect immediately and is linked to the current situation on the Rhine, which has reached historic lows. Authorities expect a slight increase in water levels soon, but no long-term recovery is anticipated. The exemption will last until September 30 and excludes oversized or heavy cargo.
