Critical Metals Corp has established a Romanian subsidiary to develop a rare metals processing facility in partnership with Nuclearelectrica. The new company, Critical Metals Romania SRL, was registered in August 2026 and aims to process materials from the Tanbreez mining project in Greenland. The project is estimated to require an investment of approximately $1.85 billion and could generate annual revenues of around $2.2 billion. However, Nuclearelectrica has stated that no final decision has been made regarding the collaboration, and the feasibility study is still under evaluation. The project has faced skepticism regarding its economic viability and the background of its key figures, including Frank Timiș, known for controversial business dealings.
