Cristian Bușoi, despre o posibilă redeschidere a centralei de la Cernavodă: Nu mai devreme de 10 septembrie

Cristian Bușoi, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Energy, announced that the Cernavodă nuclear power plant will not resume operations before September 10 due to unstable water levels. Although the Danube's flow is increasing, it has not yet reached a sufficient level for safe operation. The decision to restart one of the reactors will depend on water levels ensuring uninterrupted operation. Bușoi emphasized the importance of safety procedures and indicated that Unit 1 will undergo modernization starting next year, but both reactors should operate safely this fall and winter. The plant halted production on August 13 due to low Danube levels, prompting authorities to take measures to increase water flow to the facility.
