Creștere explozivă a cazurilor de AVC la populația cu vârste între 20 și 54 de ani
A recent study reveals a significant increase in stroke cases among adults aged 20-54, nearly doubling from 1990 to 2020. The research, published in Neurology, identified 2,076 stroke cases in this age group, with ischemic strokes being the primary cause. Factors like hypertension, diabetes, and substance use have also risen among young stroke patients. Despite the increase in stroke incidents, the 30-day mortality rate has slightly decreased, indicating more young adults survive strokes but may face long-term disabilities. Experts emphasize the need for early identification and management of stroke risk factors among young adults.
