Crește ponderea locuințelor cumpărate prin credit ipotecar
The share of residential transactions financed by mortgage loans has increased in recent years, despite a decline in the number of homes sold. In Bucharest-Ilfov, mortgages accounted for nearly 59% of sales in the first half of 2026, slightly down from 63% in 2025 but significantly higher than 50% in 2022. Nationally, mortgages made up over 57% of residential transactions, up from 43.5% in 2022. This rise is attributed to soaring housing prices, limiting buyers' ability to save. Although the number of refinanced mortgages decreased in 2026, the interest in new mortgage loans remains strong, particularly among younger buyers. The residential market is slowing, with a 1.4% drop in sales in Bucharest-Ilfov and nearly 9% nationally compared to last year.
