In the first eight months of this year, over 1,000 illegal interventions in electricity and gas installations were reported in 20 counties served by Delgaz Grid, with a 16% increase compared to last year. The estimated damage exceeds 14.5 million lei, primarily due to electricity theft, especially in Moldova. In Mureș County, around 50 cases of fraudulent gas consumption were identified, similar to last year. Delgaz Grid warns that unauthorized modifications can lead to serious safety hazards, including explosions and electrocutions. They emphasize that energy theft is a crime and urge consumers to avoid unauthorized interventions.
