„Creierul” atentatelor din 11 septembrie va fi judecat în 2028

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, accused of orchestrating the 9/11 attacks, is set to be tried in June 2028 at Guantanamo Bay. The trial has faced numerous delays due to legal issues, including the admissibility of evidence obtained under alleged torture. Mohammed was captured in 2003 and has been held at Guantanamo since 2006. Although a plea deal was reached in 2024, it was later overturned, allowing prosecutors to seek the death penalty. The case remains one of the longest and most complex in U.S. military justice history.
