Creierul are un „buton” care ne împinge spre somn. Cercetătorii au descoperit ce îl activează

Researchers have identified two distinct groups of neurons that regulate sleep needs, potentially aiding in the treatment of sleep disorders. The study, conducted on mice, revealed that serotonin and GABA neurons increase activity during prolonged wakefulness and decrease after sleep onset. Activation of these neurons led to quicker and deeper sleep, while their inhibition resulted in prolonged wakefulness without typical sleep deprivation effects. This discovery may enhance understanding of sleep disorders and inspire future therapeutic approaches.
