Credite online cu reguli mai stricte: băncile și IFN-urile ar putea fi obligate să verifice identitatea clienților

New legislation may require banks and non-banking financial institutions to verify the identity of online loan applicants to prevent fraud. The bill, supported by USR, mandates that creditors provide a detailed final loan statement within five working days after contract completion. Identity verification will involve checking personal data against the National Register of Persons. Creditors must retain verification evidence for five years and face fines up to 80,000 lei for non-compliance. Notifications to consumers must meet specific criteria to be valid, ensuring clear communication regarding loan status and obligations.
