Costul alimentației sănătoase în Europa a crescut cu 36% în patru ani. FAO: Subvențiile agricole au contribuit la scumpirea fructelor și legumelor

The cost of healthy food in Europe has risen by 36% from 2021 to 2025, outpacing the global average. The FAO report attributes this increase to inflation, the Ukraine conflict, and the EU's agricultural subsidy system, which favors cereals over fruits and vegetables. The report highlights that a healthy diet now costs approximately $3.97 per day for Europeans, nearly a dollar more than in 2021. The FAO recommends reallocating subsidies to support fruit and vegetable producers and investing in technology to reduce labor needs in these sectors. The European Commission has introduced an action plan to reduce dependency on feed imports and promote legume production for human consumption, but implementation will depend on future agricultural policy negotiations.
