Metrorex may halt operations after September 16 if employees do not receive their salaries, as stated by USLM president Marian Artimon. The company currently has only 3,000 lei in its accounts, insufficient for salary payments. Artimon highlighted that the union has alerted government officials about the financial situation without any response. He emphasized that delays in salary payments could lead employees to take legal action or go on leave. The financial struggles stem from inadequate government funding and internal issues within the Ministry of Transport. Artimon also pointed out the lack of personnel, resulting in excessive overtime and unutilized leave days. He criticized the decision-making process within the company, suggesting it is overly influenced by women in leadership roles, which he believes detracts from technical management.
