Coreea de Sud folosește drone cu termoviziune și difuzoare pentru a proteja vârstnicii de căldură • Newsweek România

South Korea is deploying drones equipped with thermal cameras and speakers to protect elderly farmers from extreme heat. These drones monitor agricultural areas in North Gyeongsang and deliver messages urging seniors to take breaks and avoid prolonged work. This initiative aims to reduce heat-related illnesses during a severe heatwave, with temperatures exceeding 41 degrees Celsius. The drone surveillance system, developed in 2023, was initially for wildlife monitoring but has been adapted for heat warnings. North Gyeongsang hosts a significant portion of the country's agricultural households, with many farmers over 65 years old. President Lee Jae Myung has declared the heatwave a national disaster, following 21 reported deaths due to extreme temperatures.
