Copilotul care a deturnat zborul Flydubai voia să provoace un nou 11 septembrie la Tel Aviv

Hamam al-Hammami, the suspect in the recent attempted hijacking of a Flydubai flight, was inspired to become a pilot by the September 11 attacks. He planned to crash the plane at Ben Gurion Airport, having previously flown the route to prepare. Al-Hammami attacked the Indian pilot with an emergency axe, but passengers managed to subdue him, leading to an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. Investigations revealed he had been influenced by extremist materials and had trained physically and psychologically for the attack. His radical views had previously led to his removal from flight training with Oman Air.
