Revolut has reported a significant data breach affecting customer information, marking the second such incident in a month. Unauthorized individuals accessed personal data of brokerage account users through a hack of DriveWealth's infrastructure. The breach occurred between September 4 and 5, exposing names, account numbers, emails, phone numbers, addresses, employment details, citizenship, age, and gender. However, passwords and banking information remained secure. Revolut clarified that affected clients are primarily from Europe, particularly Ireland, and that the breach may only involve data transferred before December 2023. This follows another breach earlier in September, where scammers obtained confidential information through a fraudulent email request posing as a government agency.
