Ciprian Mega, a priest and filmmaker, has been indicted for allegedly orchestrating the arson of a car owned by his wife's company to fabricate a narrative of political and religious persecution. Alongside two accomplices, he is accused of planning the incident to gain public sympathy amid a conflict with the Oradea Orthodox Bishopric. The car was set ablaze with gasoline, and the act was intended to mislead authorities and the public. Additionally, Mega faces charges for obtaining a medical leave based on a false diagnosis and for disclosing confidential witness statements on social media. The case will be heard in Bihor County Court, with all defendants presumed innocent until proven guilty.
