The National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) conducted inspections on over 1,600 businesses, imposing fines exceeding 5 million lei. The checks, held from October 5 to 9, targeted food, non-food, and public catering sectors. ANPC issued 1,049 fines and 640 warnings, with total product value exceeding 3.9 million lei. Non-compliant products worth over 146,000 lei were permanently removed from sale, while products worth over 200,000 lei were temporarily halted. Key violations included the use of degraded cooking oil, expired food items, and improper storage conditions for various products. Additionally, 14 businesses were ordered to cease services until issues were resolved.
