The Ministry of Finance has introduced a draft decision outlining performance indicators and criteria for rewarding ANAF inspectors based on their contributions to budget revenues. Starting January 1, 2027, Law 164/2026 will implement a performance reward mechanism for tax and customs authority personnel. Employees exceeding 1 million euros in revenue collection will receive bonuses, while underperformers may face salary cuts. The total rewards cannot exceed 12% of the approved salary budget. The draft specifies three reward levels based on performance, with conditions for eligibility and limits on annual financial rewards.
