Continuă presiunea pe opoziția turcă: între 5 şi 23 de ani de închisoare pentru cinci primari ai opoziţiei
A Turkish court sentenced five opposition mayors to prison for corruption, with sentences ranging from 5 years to over 23 years. The mayors, all from the CHP party, were arrested in early 2025. One mayor was acquitted, while another received a suspended sentence. The CHP claims these actions are politically motivated to weaken opposition after their electoral gains in 2024. The party also alleges pressure on other mayors to switch allegiance to the ruling AKP party.
