President Nicușor Dan is calling for a new round of consultations with political party leaders on October 5 to designate a new prime minister candidate. This follows the rejection of Siegfried Mureșan's government proposal by Parliament on September 30. The consultations will take place at Cotroceni Palace, starting with PSD and followed by AUR, PNL, and USR. Dan has stated that AUR will be excluded from any future government coalition due to concerns about Romania's foreign relations. The political crisis began in May after the previous government was dismissed.
