Construction production volume in Romania up 15.4pct eight months into 2026

Romania's construction production rose by 15.4% in the first eight months of 2026, with significant increases in various sectors. New construction works saw an 18.7% rise, while maintenance and repairs also grew. Residential buildings experienced a notable 22.9% increase, and civil engineering works rose by 14.9%. In August 2026, the construction volume surged by 40.5% compared to August 2025, with residential buildings up by 54.9%. Month-on-month, production increased by 1.6% unadjusted and 7.2% seasonally adjusted.
