Additionally, extreme heat this summer has raised water temperatures to nearly 30 °C, causing significant ecological changes, including increased algae growth throughout the lake. This situation is alarming, especially as 700,000 Romanians visit Balaton annually, raising concerns about the lake's health and sustainability.
