The Oradea Local Council discussed the future stadium project, with construction expected to start in spring 2024 funded by the city budget. The project, costing over 327 million lei, will be co-financed by the local budget until 2027, as state funding has been postponed to 2028. The stadium will have 16,291 seats and will be part of a larger complex including a hotel and conference facilities. Preparations for the site began in 2020, and the contract for design and execution was awarded to a consortium amid legal challenges.
