The Bihor County Council has approved a partnership with the Orthodox Bishopric of Oradea to restore wooden churches over the next five years. The initiative aims to preserve 59 historical wooden churches, integrating them into a cultural tourism route. The partnership will establish a mixed commission to prioritize restoration efforts based on the churches' condition and cultural value. Funding will be allocated annually from the county budget, promoting cultural tourism and supporting local communities. Previous restoration efforts have been made with the help of NGOs.
