Consiliul Concurenţei: amendă de 10 mil. euro pentru 3 firme care au fixat ilegal preţul pe piaţa zahărului

The Competition Council imposed fines totaling approximately €10.22 million on three companies for illegal price-fixing in the sugar market in Romania. Agrana Sales & Marketing GmbH and Agrana România SRL received a combined fine of 42.18 million lei, while Lucsor Impex SRL was fined 9.91 million lei. The investigation revealed that these companies coordinated to set sugar prices, undermining competitive market conditions. Agrana companies acknowledged their violation of competition law, resulting in a reduced fine. The investigation into Pfeifer & Langen Romania SRL was closed due to insufficient evidence. The fines contribute to the state budget and will be enforced by the National Agency for Fiscal Administration.
