The High Court of Cassation and Justice confirmed that Țiriac Leasing IFN SA violated competition law by engaging in sensitive commercial information exchange. The Competition Council previously fined the company 2.9 million lei as part of a broader sanctioning of 41.2 million lei against the Romanian Financial Companies Association and its members for similar violations. Following an investigation, it was found that these companies exchanged detailed financial information, allowing them to adjust their commercial strategies accordingly. The court upheld the Competition Council's decision after an appeal by Țiriac Leasing was initially successful. Other companies involved in the case did not contest the sanctions.
