Consiliul Concurenței a amendat 21 de companii cu 83,2 milioane de lei pentru înțelegeri privind prețurile semințelor și produselor pentru protecția plantelor

The Competition Council has fined 21 companies a total of 83.2 million lei for price-fixing agreements in the seed and plant protection markets in Romania. The investigation revealed that producers and distributors colluded to set resale prices for farmers. Major fines were imposed on Agrii Romania and Pioneer, with several companies acknowledging their violations and receiving reduced penalties. The Council emphasized that while voucher systems are acceptable, they should not lead to fixed prices. Monsanto was not fined due to insufficient evidence of price-fixing. The decisions are enforceable and contribute to the state budget.
