A close advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Irina Mudra, has been placed under preventive arrest for 60 days amid a money laundering investigation. Mudra, who was recently dismissed from her position, is implicated in a scheme that allegedly laundered around $3.3 million to secure bail for a former energy minister facing separate corruption charges. The Ukrainian anti-corruption prosecutor's office has set her bail at approximately $455,000. If she can pay, she will be restricted from leaving Kyiv and communicating with witnesses. Zelensky's administration has faced scrutiny over corruption, despite promises to combat it.
