Conservation Carpathia: Ariile protejate au nevoie și de alte surse de finanțare, nu doar publice

The Conservation Carpathia Foundation emphasizes the need for adequate funding for protected natural areas in Romania, highlighting the importance of both public and private financial sources. During the "Generations Park" campaign in Bucharest, discussions focused on the financial challenges faced by national parks, which have not seen new establishments in nearly two decades. Christoph Promberger pointed out that only 1.3% of Romania's land is designated as national parks, compared to higher percentages in other countries. The foundation advocates for investment in parks, which can provide economic benefits and address climate change issues. Minister Diana Buzoianu acknowledged the bureaucratic obstacles hindering the establishment of new parks, stressing the need for compromise between local and national interests.
