Conducerea ANP, după protestul de la Penitenciarul Giurgiu: Deficitul de personal și gradul de ocupare, provocări la nivelul întregului sistem
The National Administration of Penitentiaries (ANP) addressed issues raised by the Giurgiu Penitentiary protests, highlighting staff shortages and overcrowding as systemic challenges. The Giurgiu facility operates at 105.24% capacity, with maximum security areas exceeding legal limits. ANP plans to add 1,762 new accommodation places by 2026 to improve conditions. A visit to Giurgiu was conducted to assess difficulties and necessary measures. New police graduates will be assigned to address staffing needs, and 20 students will begin internships at the facility. ANP acknowledges staff concerns and maintains dialogue with unions.
