Motorcycle and moped riders will be allowed to use public transport lanes following a law passed by the Chamber of Deputies. The law modifies existing traffic regulations to improve traffic flow, allowing these vehicles to navigate between stopped vehicles at traffic lights and railway crossings. It also defines a safety space for motorcycles and mopeds at intersections. Additionally, bicycles, motorcycles without sidecars, and mopeds can overtake stopped vehicles if conditions permit. Local authorities are tasked with creating safe spaces and dedicated lanes for various types of traffic. The initiative is welcomed by the motorcycling community, promising benefits like reduced travel time and lower fuel consumption.
