Concursul Internațional George Enescu 2026 debutează la Ateneul Român cu un concert sub bagheta maestrului Cristian Măcelaru

The 2026 edition of the George Enescu International Competition will officially start on August 23, 2026, at the Romanian Athenaeum. Conducted by Cristian Măcelaru, the event will feature the National Radio Orchestra and the winners of the 2024 edition. The theme 'In Search of Excellence' highlights the blend of Enescu's musical heritage with contemporary works and emerging artists. The inaugural concert will include compositions by Diego Santamaria and Dan Dediu, culminating with Enescu's Symphony No. 1. The competition, running from August 23 to September 19, 2026, will host young musicians globally and offer free access to music students and teachers.
