Wolters Brewery in Germany is set to close after 400 years due to declining beer demand, affecting around 90 employees. The brewery filed for insolvency earlier this year, citing falling sales and failed attempts to find an investor. The mayor of Braunschweig described the closure as extremely painful, while the NGG union criticized the rushed insolvency process. This marks a significant decline in the German beer market, with sales dropping below eight billion liters for the first time. Last year, beer sales fell by 6%, reaching the lowest level since data collection began in 1993.
