Over 95% of communes cannot sustain themselves financially, relying heavily on government subsidies. The situation is exacerbated by rising salary costs, which have increased by €1.2 million in four years. Other communes, like Murgeni and Curtici, also struggle with high salary expenditures and deficits, indicating a widespread fiscal crisis among local governments in Romania.
