A bronze block recovered from a shipwreck in the Aegean Sea is one of the most remarkable archaeological finds. Discovered in 1901 near Antikythera, it was initially overlooked but later recognized as a sophisticated ancient mechanism. Dating from 150 to 100 BC, it features over 30 bronze gears that replicate celestial movements. The mechanism's complexity was revealed in the late 20th century, leading to its recognition as the first mechanical computer.
