Compensarea clienților afectați de manipularea ROBOR: Ce au modificat senatorii

A legislative proposal aimed at compensating bank clients affected by anti-competitive practices, including ROBOR manipulation, received a favorable report from Senate committees. Initiated by PSD following a Competition Council investigation, the proposal mandates banks to recalculate contractual obligations and refund proven damages. Key amendments include the requirement for definitive administrative acts to trigger compensation and the replacement of ROBOR with IRCC in affected contracts. The proposal also sets fixed penalties for banks based on violation severity. The National Bank of Romania and the Economic and Social Council issued negative opinions, citing clarity and legal coherence issues. The proposal will be debated in the Senate and then sent to the Chamber of Deputies for final approval.
