Major tech companies have committed to future lease payments totaling approximately $1.09 trillion for AI data centers, highlighting significant investments in AI infrastructure. This amount is nearly four times the $285 billion in existing lease obligations. The contracts will only be recognized as liabilities once operational. Oracle leads with $260 billion in unactivated leases, while Microsoft has $329.1 billion in commitments. Meta, Alphabet, and Amazon also report substantial obligations, with total commitments from these five companies reaching around $1.16 trillion.
