Companie din România, amendată cu un milion de euro pentru că un angajat a dezinstalat WhatsApp de pe telefonul de serviciu
A Romanian company, Philips Romania, was fined nearly one million euros after an employee uninstalled WhatsApp from a work phone during an unannounced inspection. The competition authority stated this action limited inspectors' access to potentially relevant information for their investigation. The fine, amounting to 5,181,216.887 lei, was imposed for providing incomplete documents during the inspection. The incident occurred after the employee was informed about the inspection. The Competition Council conducted inspections at Philips Romania and other related companies to investigate possible anti-competitive practices. Companies obstructing inspections can face fines ranging from 0.5% to 1% of their previous year's revenue.
