Bulgarian smart home technology company Shelly is set to be acquired by French giant Schneider Electric for €1.2 billion. The agreement includes a voluntary public takeover offer at €70 per share, representing a premium over previous stock prices. The deal aims to enhance Shelly's international growth while maintaining its entrepreneurial culture. Founders Dimitar Dimitrov and Svetlin Todorov, who hold 57% of the company, will receive approximately €680 million from the sale. Shelly has evolved from a connected device provider to a comprehensive energy management platform, expanding its product range and international presence.
