The Bucharest Tribunal has declared the National Uranium Company (CNU) bankrupt, leading to its dissolution. Approximately 30 active employees will be laid off by October. CNU has been in insolvency since December 2021, and the court's decision is enforceable. The company was established in 1997 and has faced significant financial decline, with a reported turnover of only 897,290 RON in 2025. A government resolution was adopted to support laid-off employees with unemployment benefits. The company’s restructuring plan was rejected in 2025, paving the way for bankruptcy proceedings.
