Comisia Europeană respinge instituirea unei taxe UE în domeniul energiei, cerută de șase țări membre

The European Commission has rejected the proposal for a common EU tax on extraordinary profits of energy companies, despite requests from six member states. Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis stated that individual countries are better positioned to implement such taxes nationally. This decision follows discussions among EU finance ministers, where the idea was revisited. A working group will be established to explore the issue further and share best practices. German Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil emphasized the need for such a tax to help reduce energy prices, urging the Commission to take action.
