Comisia Europeană redeschide programul SAFE: România poate solicita bani în plus pentru apărare

Romania may access additional defense funds through the European SAFE program, with around €20 billion becoming available due to reduced financing requests from Italy and Hungary. The European Commission plans to launch a new funding round by the end of 2026, allowing member states to apply for loans for defense projects. Romania has already received an initial tranche of €2.5 billion from SAFE, aimed at enhancing defense capabilities. The allocation for Romania could increase, but it depends on the country's decision to participate and present relevant projects. Poland has also shown interest in additional funding.
