A new road bridge over the Tisza River connects Maramureș County in Romania with Transcarpathia in Ukraine, enhancing cross-border traffic and local community support. The project, valued at approximately 49 million euros, includes 18 million euros in EU funding and aims to improve transport efficiency between Ukraine and the EU. The 268.6-meter bridge will operate alongside an existing bridge, allowing for increased traffic capacity and eliminating previous weight restrictions. It features two parallel structures for each direction, with dedicated lanes for pedestrians and cyclists, and modern border infrastructure to streamline passenger and freight traffic.
