Comisia Europeană monitorizează situația energetică din România

The European Commission is closely monitoring the energy situation in Romania and neighboring countries due to low Danube water levels affecting nuclear energy production. While the Commission is prepared to convene the Electricity Coordination Group if necessary, it currently sees no risks to energy supply security. The spokesperson emphasized that nuclear energy remains a reliable source, despite challenges posed by extreme weather conditions. Additionally, the Commission is working towards eliminating Russian oil imports from the EU market, while Hungary and Slovakia currently benefit from temporary exemptions.
