Comisia Europeană lansează o coaliție pentru alfabetizare

The European Commission has launched a coalition aimed at improving literacy skills across Europe, responding to alarming PISA 2025 data showing that 31.3% of 15-year-olds in the EU struggle with basic text comprehension. The coalition will bring together schools, educational providers, libraries, cultural organizations, and public authorities to enhance cooperation and share best practices in literacy education. This initiative highlights the urgent need for improved reading skills, as emphasized by Roxana Mînzatu, the Commission's Executive Vice-President. In Romania, the situation is particularly dire, with 52% of 15-year-olds failing to meet minimum math competencies and 48% struggling with reading.
