The European Union and the European Commission are celebrating European Jewish Culture Day, emphasizing their commitment to protecting Jewish life and combating antisemitism. In preparation for this day, the Commission released two manuals aimed at supporting Jewish culture and heritage. These documents provide practical guidance for public authorities and the general public to enhance the visibility and understanding of Jewish life. Magnus Brunner highlighted the historical contributions of Jewish communities to Europe and the importance of safeguarding this heritage. The manuals include recommendations for creating safe environments for Jewish people and document Jewish heritage sites across 30 European countries. The Commission will also award the first Simone Veil Prize in December 2026 to recognize efforts in preserving Jewish heritage.
