The European Commission will launch two key initiatives to promote water resilience in Europe, addressing increasing pressures on water resources. The initiatives include the European Water Academy and the Stakeholder Platform for Water Resilience, aimed at fostering collaboration among various stakeholders. These efforts are crucial for achieving the EU's water resilience goals by 2050, especially in light of recent extreme weather conditions. The initiatives will help identify implementation barriers and propose practical solutions, ensuring a broad representation of public and sectoral interests. Together, they will support the new European water initiative announced by President Ursula von der Leyen.
