Comisia Europeană aprobă 6,1 miliarde de euro pentru apărarea aeriană și antirachetă a Ucrainei
The European Commission has approved €6.1 billion for Ukraine to purchase defense equipment, including Patriot missiles, to enhance its protection against Russian attacks. This funding will support air defense, anti-missile systems, drones, and electronic warfare. Ursula von der Leyen emphasized the importance of this aid for Ukraine's airspace security. The funds will be used to acquire defense products from both EU and Ukrainian companies. This decision is part of a larger €90 billion support package for Ukraine, which includes budgetary and defense assistance for 2026-2027. The Commission has already allocated €8.35 billion in defense funding to Ukraine this year, with more to come.
