The European Commission and Ukraine announced they have identified necessary funds for Ukraine's budget and defense needs through 2026 and agreed to expedite funding for 2027. Ukraine relies heavily on a €90 billion EU loan to cover a $27 billion funding gap for military operations. Access to these funds is contingent on meeting EU political reform criteria. Additionally, both parties agreed to quickly allocate €45 billion from the EU loan for 2027, while also assessing potential additional budgetary and defense needs. An EU official clarified that discussions remain open for future funding adjustments.
