Comisia Europeană accelerează tranziția către euro digital. Vicepreședintele CE, Valdis Dombrovskis: „Nu este conceput pentru a înlocui numerarul”

The European Commission is implementing measures to enhance the EU's economic competitiveness by strengthening its financial autonomy. Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis emphasized the need to reduce administrative costs for banks while maintaining resilience standards established post-global financial crisis. He highlighted the digital euro, the international role of the euro, and regulatory simplification as key components of this strategy. Dombrovskis noted the decline in cash transactions and the necessity for a European digital payment method. He also discussed the importance of expanding the euro's global use to mitigate economic vulnerabilities. The Commission aims to streamline regulations to lower costs and encourage investment, particularly in the banking sector, while ensuring that resilience is not compromised.
